Food Bags Keep Not Sealing Tight? The Problem Is Hiding Right Here!
Alyssa/ November 14, 2025 Return
Loose food bag seals are super common in food processing and packaging. Many workers first think the temperature is too low, so they crank it up— but that doesn’t fix the problem. It might even melt the bag openings too much and warp them! Actually, most of the time, oil and crumbs on the heating plate are the real issue.
During production, oil residue, sauce bits, and tiny crumbs easily stick to the bagging machine’s heating plate. When it’s dirty, it can’t heat evenly. Some areas get blocked by gunk, so the plastic on bag openings doesn’t melt properly— leading to loose seals that split, leak, or shorten shelf life.
UBL’s bagging machines have non-stick heating plates to cut down residue, but daily maintenance still helps. After work, wait for the plate to cool, then wipe it gently with a clean soft cloth to remove oil and crumbs. For tough gunk, use a special cleaner and dry it off afterward. Do a quick weekly check for scratches or warping to make it last longer.

Simple cleaning keeps seals tight, bags looking neat, and machines running smoothly.
How do you clean your bagging machine’s heating plate? Ever had loose seals even after cleaning?
