Why Do Bagging Machines Keep Jamming After Changing Bag Materials in Garment Factories?

Alyssa/ November 13, 2025 Return

Changing bag materials is a common task in garment factory production. However, many factories find that their bagging machines start jamming frequently right after switching to new bag materials. This completely disrupts the normal production rhythm, forcing operators to work overtime and seriously affecting efficiency.

The problem isn’t as complicated as it seems. For a bagging machine to work properly, it needs to accurately recognize the width and thickness of the bags. If you switch to new bag materials that are thinner or smoother, but don’t adjust the machine’s previous settings, the machine can’t grasp the bag openings precisely—and that’s why jamming happens so easily. Every time a jam occurs, you have to stop the machine to check it. This not only wastes time but also may delay the subsequent production schedule, making delivery deadlines tight.

For garment factories, the smooth operation of bagging machines is extremely important. Once frequent jamming occurs, it not only wastes labor but also may delay order delivery.

Has your factory ever had issues with bagging machine jams after changing bag materials? How long does it usually take to fix the problem?
