Folding Machine Photoeye Malfunction? Clean or Replace for Accurate Folding!
Alyssa/ October 25, 2025 Return
Is your folding machine missing folds, folding incorrectly, or shifting positions? The photoeye is faulty—clean or replace it to fix the problem quickly.
Dirty photoeyes and reflectors cause malfunctions. Turn off the power, and gently wipe the photoeyes on both sides of the feed inlet and their reflectors with a dry flannel. Don’t use a wet cloth to avoid damaging parts. Test the machine—if the photoeye light flashes normally, it’s fixed.
If cleaning doesn’t work, the photoeye is broken. Buy the same model as specified in the manual. Turn off the power, unplug the old photoeye, unscrew it, install the new one, and reconnect the wires. Wipe it weekly to prevent malfunctions.
Aren’t these methods simple? What other photoeye issues have you had? Leave a comment, and I’ll help you solve it!
